The Testament

The Testament

An Israeli researcher is locked in a legal battle against powerful forces eager to keep an old war crime buried. His search for evidence leads him to testimony by his own mother, testimony that reveals a secret that shatters his own sense of identity. The Testament is not about the war but about what it means to be Jewish, to be religious, and to be part of a family. And for Yoel, the researcher committed to discovering “the truth,” it is about what “truth” actually means. Suspenseful, powerful and intensely thought-provoking, The Testament is a film not easily forgotten.
