NOODLE

7:00 PM, Dryden Theatre

Ayelet Menahemi, 2007, 90 min., Israel, Hebrew/Mandarin with English subtitles

Miri is a twice-widowed, El Al flight attendant with a well-regulated existence. Her life is suddenly turned upside down by an abandoned Chinese boy whose migrant-worker mother has disappeared. The film is a touching comic-drama in which two human beings - as different from each other as Tel Aviv is from Beijing - accompany each other on a remarkable journey, one that takes them both back to a meaningful life. Winner of the 2007 Israeli Film Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress; Winner-Grand Prix of the Jury - Montreal World Film Festival.

Generously underwritten by the Rubens Family Foundation and the Samloff Family Fund.
